1950 Riley 2.5 Litre

Members Page

I seem to have come into possession of a medallion issued for the 1934 LeMans commemorationg the Riley Car. It weighs about 4 oz. and is approx 3 inches in diameter. It is Art Deco in style and is signed by M. Delannoy. The obverse features a woman standing right holding a torch in her left hand and a shield emblazened  "Automobile Club de l' Ouest" in the right, with a map in the background. The reverse
features a circular field of crests with "Automobile Club de l'Ouest" and "24 Heures du Mans" in the center with "The Riley Car" inscribed at the exact center.

Mr. Bruno with the LeMans wrote me that though Delannoy had done medallions for the LeMans he was not familiar with this and thought it might have been specially issued for the stellar performance of the Riley in the 1934 LeMans.

Do any of your Riley owners have any idea how this could have ended up
being sold as junk silver in a shop in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada?
