Its an auction!! 1950 2 1/2 Litre Riley Drophead Convertible Model: RM-B 2 1/2 Litre Year: 1950 Type of Body: Drophead Convertible Chassis #: 60-D-7096 Body Number: A50332 Color: Old English white Interior: Red Leather This Riley was imported into the United States by Fergus Motors of NYC. It was then delivered to Florida in 1950 after being purchased by Jay Storch. The car has always been garaged by all of its (3 Known) owners. In 1950 the 2 1/2 liter Drophead listed for 970 English pound sterling with an exchange rate of 2.80 US ($2716.00), pricing was f.o.b. Abingdon, England. The engine is a 4 cylinder; overhead valves, hemispheric combustion chambers, dual camshafts and has twin SU type H4 carburetors. The leather interior is accented by wood trim. Other unique features are: directional signal indicators, D style tail/stoplamps, and Landau bars on the convertible top. The history of the Riley Drophead shows there were only 500 cars produced. They were made between 1949 and 1951. Only 177 were exported to the US during this time period of which 130 were exported in 1950. This car is very rare and makes a great show car. The car has had a body off restoration and there is documentation with pictures and video to support the history of the restoration. The car has directional signal (Semaphore type) located in the low rear quarter panels.
